With air suspension being predominant for highway trucks it is so simple to install an accurate and reliable digital scale system. Air pressure transducers monitor the suspension system pressures to provide the axle group weights. We offer Loadman and Airtec scale systems for air suspension highway applications.

Loadman Australia are able to supply systems for spring suspension and spring/air combination vehicles with Fifth Wheel load cell systems for prime movers and load cell and suspension based options for trailers.

Articulated combinations including single trailer, B-double and road trains on air suspension have the capability to be scaled with up to eight input signals.

Steer axle weighing on articulated combinations with spring suspension is calculated proportionally from the weight on the drive.

Loadman

The easy to read cab mounted meter will display the gross weight and individual axle groups for both the truck and trailer. With an
on-board printer each load can be logged and printed at point of loading.

The Loadman LM200 meter has data storage and transfer capability to interface with GPS fleet management systems. Optional features include: on-board printer, bar code reader, remote display and programmable target weight set point lights or alarms. GVM or payload modes are operator selectable.

Drive axle suspensions on Kenworth and Volvo have dual ride height valves, with these or any other suspensions with dual ride height valves a second air pressure transducer and a dual load coder are installed.

Load cell equipped Fifth Wheel installations provide a solution for spring suspensions on the drive and will deliver a more accurate solution for air suspension as the effects of drive axle suspension friction are eliminated. This coupled with the ability to apply the prime mover brakes and release the trailer brakes when weighing the load provides a more accurate system.

Airtec

The Airtec scale system is based on individual axle group indicators. These devices are externally mounted with an easy to read LED display. They are available in single and dual inputs to suit single and dual ride height air suspension systems.

Airtec AXL200 and AXL300 models are a cost-effective and accurate axle group weighing system.

With the development of wireless technology for the AXL product we are now able to offer screen solutions as a fixed 7” touch screen or hand-held PDA.

With the establishment of Transport Certification Australia and the proposed Intelligent Access Program (IAP) for Higher Mass Limits (HML), selecting the right scale system is critical. Loadman Australia has had both Loadman and Airtec scale systems tested by TCA.
